I have rearranged the flights. Due to the large group of Masters and Lightweights, I have changed the Masters Women to throw with the Masters Men and the Lightweights will throw with the Women. It is my intent by this to let as many as possible throw in Southern Maryland. With luck we will not have any wait lists. Because, at a month and a half away we have 3 almost full flights, it is very important that you post immediately if you cannot compete.

ATHLETE PARKING AT THE FESTIVAL: Because of Park Insurance Regulations, the Judges, Staff and Athletes that are parking within the Festival Grounds, (on the athletic field and in the athletes GREEN PARKING area) must arrive early enough to off load your vehicle and move it to your parking area before 8:30am. The exits to leave within the Festival Grounds will not be open until 6:30pm.
Athletes who want to park in the GREEN PARKING area, which is next to the athletic field, need to email me their address and I will mail you a GREEN PARKING PASS. Otherwise you will have to park in the GENERAL PARKING AREA and haul your equipment to and from the field. To speed up admission to the Games, buy your tickets on line at http://www.cssm.org

It is with a load of sadness and "ah golly gee, I wish I hadn't a done that" that I must pull my name off the list for this games. I very successfully ruptured my bicep in practice a few weeks ago and MRI concurs. So it's off to surgery to fix my chicken wing. I guess I'll give a go again next year. Doc says no competitions for 4-6 months. But then I should be good as new! It's still a goal to come hang with you all every now and again to keep my appetite whetted! Cheers everyone, practice safely and have a great games!!

I apologize for this extremely late notice, but I have to withdraw from Saturday's competition due to some pressing family issues. I will miss seeing everyone this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who worked hard to make Southern MD a great time- Dave, Alex, Stephanie, Malcolm, Pat, Beau (having a knowledgable announcer really makes a games) Kenny, Mark, our scorekeeper Mrs. Parlow, and a great group of athletes. Always a privilege and an honor to take the field with all of you. I was very fortunate to eke out a win against a formidable and constantly improving group of Masters athletes. I thought Sam had the best day and deserved the win; fouling out is a tough way to lose (or win) a games. Great job, Sam!

I echo Frank's sentiments. Thanks to the MASA family for doing all you do including educating me on running my own games in the GLSAA land. I've learned a whole bunch over the last 9 seasons.

PS. I'd like a slightly lighter caber next time. ;)

I too would like to ditto what Frank said. I always look forward to competing with and learning from all of the amazing athletes. The comradery is some of the best I have ever seen at a sporting event. Always good to see old friends and make a few news ones each year. The hard work and dedication of the MASA crew certainly doesn't go unnoticed. Awesome games, wonderful time and looking forward to it again next year!!

Again, It was an awesome start to the season at Southern MD. Thoroughly enjoyed throwing in the first ever MASA Lightweight class, and hope to have another at some point. Thanks again to all the judges and field staff for giving us another opportunity to throw.

Masters Class

Jerry finished 4th in WOB and has 5 points.

If Steve's scores are null and void, I'd have .5 points less than I do in Sheaf.

Women's Masters:
We threw the 12# hammer, not the 16#
WOB and HWFD were 21# not 28#

In Sheaf - I cleared the opening height of 12' not 14'.

Thanks for a fun and safe games!

Jerry should have been 4th place/4 points, fixed.

Not sure what you mean about your sheaf points, you had 7th place, 7 points. I took out Steve's scores before I did these.
